Have you ever volunteered before? No
I had a very positive volunteer experience with Vets beyond Borders. Although the conditions were challenging at times, on the whole the accommodation and the food provided was superb and the local staff very friendly and encouraging. It was wonderful to see the vets and their support staff work to such a high standard under sometimes-difficult conditions, particularly in the more remote areas.
What do you think is the best aspect of the program? Although foreign volunteers support the project, local veterinary and support staff, all very competent and enthusiastic about their work, does the day-to-day organization and operation of the program. What do you like most about being a volunteer?

I enjoy the opportunity to live and work alongside the local population doing something that really makes a difference to the lives of both animals and people in a community. This involvement allows one to develop both personally and professionally. It is also a great opportunity to really experience a country rather than merely going in as a tourist.
