Tell us about your volunteer experience?

Volunteering is a great way to see a country and become involved in a community as an active member rather than just as a tourist, while making a small contribution to the community.  The people were very friendly, a high level of veterinary medicine/surgery was achieved in somewhat difficult circumstances, and the local coordinators effectively managed a widely disparate and ever-changing group of overseas volunteers.

What do you think is the best aspect of the program?
The program has real benefits for the community;  the volunteers are well looked after, and the local program members are very friendly and helpful.

What do you like most about being a volunteer? Becoming involved in a community, not just being a tourist; making a contribution.
