What to bring

  • Raincoat and waterproof shoes
  • Hat, sunscreen, insect repellant
  • Head torch, Stethoscope and scrub top
  • Surgical instruments and disposable drapes if requested by the project co-ordinator
  • Short length of chain and lock: to secure your pack, especially during train trips
  • Sleeping bag or blanket: may be necessary when staying in cheap hotels and when travelling sleeper-class on the train. If you prefer to use a blanket they are cheap to buy in India.

  • If you are bringing in medicines or equipment of value please contact us regarding advice about customs clearance. Do not pack ketamine or opiates as this can lead to major problems at the customs desk.

    Donations

It would be greatly appreciated if you were able to bring medicine or materials donated by your practice or pharmaceutical companies, even if they have recently exceeded their expiry date. Please email the project manager directly for advice on what is needed.
