VBB: An Austalian Partner Organisation for Australian Youth Ambassadors for Development

In an exciting development, VBB have agreed to become an Australian Partner Organisation for the Australian Youth Ambassadors For Development (AYAD) Program, an AusAID funded initiative.

Australian Partner Organisations (APOs) work with the AYAD Program to develop and foster linkages between Australian organisations and Host Organisations working throughout Asia, the Pacific and Africa. In this development, VBB are partnering with the Indonesian host organisation Animal Friends Jogja.

Animal Friends Jogja [AFJ] is a non profit organization based in Yogyakarta, Indonesia & is commited to improving the welfare of the animals through proactive education and advertising campaigns, research, rescues and working with related organizations, communities, and grassroots activism. AFJ endeavour to relieve suffering and overpopulation by providing medical care, sterilization, and adoption/fostering/sponsorship for stray-neglected-abused companion animals and by educating children and adults in animal welfare & nature conservation. VBB are proud to be an APO for AFJ.

The Australian Youth Ambassadors for Development (AYAD) Program sends young Australians aged 18-30 on short term volunteer assignments (3-12 months) throughout Asia, the Pacific and Africa. These assignments are part of the Australian Volunteers for International Development program, an Australian Government AusAID initiative. Vets Beyond Borders will be supporting a Animal Health and Rights Officer assignment in Indonesia.
